# Limits

> How plan limits are counted, and what happens at the edge.

Three kinds of limit, counted differently.

## Channels

Counted as **connected**, including disabled ones. At the limit, connecting
another is blocked until one is deleted — disabling is not enough, because a
disabled channel keeps its connection.

## Monthly allowances

Images and videos generated per month reset on the **billing date**, not the
calendar month. Exhausting an allowance blocks new generation of that type;
everything already scheduled still publishes.

## Team seats

Counted as invited members, including pending invitations. Removing a member
frees the seat immediately.

## Where you stand

Billing settings shows current usage against each limit. The API returns `403`
with a named limit when a call would cross one — see
[errors](/public-api/errors).
