# The trial

> Seven days, card at signup, first charge at the end.

Every account starts with a seven-day trial of its chosen plan.

## How it runs

A card is taken at signup and **authorised, not charged**. The first charge
happens when the trial ends; cancel before then and nothing is taken.

During the trial the plan's full feature set applies, with its normal
[limits](/cloud/limits).

## The renewal date

Shown at signup and in billing settings — the terms, the date and the amount
are on screen at the point the card is captured, so there is no silent
conversion.

## Cancelling during the trial

Cancel from billing settings. The account stays usable to the end of the seven
days, then closes to publishing without charging. Channels and drafts survive,
so re-subscribing later picks up where you left off.
