# Analytics

> Which platforms report metrics, and what they report.

Two levels: per channel, and per post.

## Per channel

Followers and reach over time, for platforms that expose an account-level API.

## Per post

Views, likes, comments and shares, where the platform reports them. Only
meaningful once a post has published.

## Coverage is uneven

This is the part worth understanding: **what you see depends entirely on what
each platform exposes.** Nushir shows nothing rather than estimating.

| Reporting | Platforms |
| - | - |
| Account and post metrics | Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest |
| Limited or post-only | X, Threads, Reddit |
| Nothing | Most chat and blogging platforms |

A platform that reports nothing returns an empty result, not an error.

## Timing

Platforms populate metrics on their own schedule — usually within a day, and
almost never instantly. An empty result an hour after publishing is normal.

## Over the API

```bash theme={null}
# per channel
curl https://platform.nushir.com/api/public/v1/analytics/CHANNEL_ID \
  -H "Authorization: $NUSHIR_API_KEY"
# per post
curl https://platform.nushir.com/api/public/v1/analytics/post/POST_ID \
  -H "Authorization: $NUSHIR_API_KEY"
```
