# Webhooks

> Notify another system when Nushir publishes.

Register a URL and Nushir calls it when a post publishes, so another system can
react — log it, notify a channel, kick off a report.

## Setting one up

Settings → webhooks. Give a URL and choose the channels it covers.

## Receiving

Nushir sends a POST with a JSON body identifying the post, the channel and the
result.

Two things every receiver should do:

1. **Return quickly.** Acknowledge, then do the work asynchronously. A slow
endpoint looks like a failure and will be retried.
2. **Be idempotent.** A retry can deliver the same event twice. Key on the post
id so a duplicate delivery does not double-apply.

## Not to be confused with

These are Nushir's outbound notifications. Inbound webhooks *from* a platform
(a TikTok or Meta callback) are part of connecting a channel and are handled
internally.
