# Manage a channel

> Reconnect, rename, disable, delete.

The channel menu sits beside each channel in the left panel.

## Rename

Changes the label in Nushir only. The name on the platform is untouched. Useful
when three channels would otherwise all read as the same company name.

## Disable

Keeps the channel and its history but takes it out of publishing. Queued posts
for a disabled channel do not publish.

Use this rather than deleting when a client is paused — deleting loses the
connection and requires re-authorising.

## Reconnect

Sends you back through the platform's approval screen and replaces the stored
credentials. Nothing else about the channel changes: its posts, history and
settings survive.

## Delete

Disconnects the channel and deletes the stored credentials.

<Warning>
  Deleting does not remove anything already published. Posts live on the platform
  and stay in your history. Queued posts for that channel will not publish.
</Warning>

## Per-channel defaults

Some platforms carry settings that apply to every post unless a post overrides
them — a default subreddit, a default privacy level. Set them once here instead
of repeating them in the composer.
