# Scheduling and publishing

> Draft, schedule, post now.

Three ways to leave the composer.

## Draft

Saved, never publishes. **Drafts skip settings validation**, so this is how you
park something incomplete — a post with no privacy level set, or missing its
image.

Before promoting a draft, ask what is still missing:

```bash theme={null}
curl https://platform.nushir.com/api/public/v1/posts/POST_ID/missing \
  -H "Authorization: $NUSHIR_API_KEY"
```

## Schedule

Queued for its date and published by the server. Nothing needs to stay open.

## Post now

Publishes immediately. Same path as scheduling, without the wait.

## What happens at publish time

Nushir calls each platform in turn. Per channel, one of three things happens:

* **Success** — the post moves to published and records the returned URL.
* **Rejection** — the post moves to error and keeps the platform's message.
* **Token failure** — the channel is flagged for reconnection.

One channel failing does not stop the others in the group.

<Warning>
  Publishing is never guaranteed. Platforms have outages, revoke tokens, and
  change their rules without notice. Anything time-critical deserves a check that
  it actually went out.
</Warning>
