# How Nushir works

> The words Nushir uses, defined once.

## Channel

One connected social account — a TikTok creator account, a LinkedIn page, a
Facebook page. Connecting the same platform twice gives you two channels.

<Note>
  The API calls this an **integration**. Same object, different name; the API
  predates the interface wording.
</Note>

## Post and post group

A **post** is what goes to one channel at one time.

Selecting four channels in the composer creates four posts that share a **group**.
The group is what lets Nushir treat them as one thing — delete the group and all
four go, and the calendar shows them together.

This is why the API has both `DELETE /posts/{id}` and
`DELETE /posts/group/{group}`.

## Part

A post can have several parts. On platforms that support threads, the parts
publish as a thread. On platforms that do not, the later parts publish as
comments on the first.

## Slot

A time a channel normally posts. Slots exist so scheduling can answer "when is
the next sensible time for this channel?" without you keeping the schedule in
your head. See [posting times](/general/channels/time-slots).

## Client group

A grouping of channels belonging to one client, so an agency can filter the
calendar to that client. Called `customer` in the API.

## Plug

A rule that runs automatically after a post performs — auto-repost, or
auto-comment once a post passes a threshold. See [plugs](/general/automations/plugs).

## State

Every post is in exactly one state:

| State | Meaning |
| - | - |
| `DRAFT` | Saved, never publishes. Skips settings validation. |
| `QUEUE` | Scheduled. Will publish at its date. |
| `PUBLISHED` | Sent to the platform successfully. |
| `ERROR` | Publishing was attempted and the platform rejected it. |
