# Media library

> Everything you have uploaded, in one place.

Every file uploaded through the composer or the API lands here and can be reused
without uploading again.

## Reuse

Attach from the library instead of re-uploading. The same file can back any
number of posts.

## Deleting

Removing a file from the library does not affect posts already published — those
live on the platform. It does break **queued** posts that reference it, which
will then fail validation.

## Uploading over the API

See [images and video](/general/composer/media) for both upload routes. Every
upload returns an `id`, which is what a post's `image` array references.
