# Bluesky

> Connecting Bluesky, and the rules it enforces.

## Connecting

**Add Channel → Bluesky**, approve access on the platform, and you are returned
here. See [connect a channel](/general/channels/connect) for the general flow.

## Worth knowing

Uses an app password rather than OAuth. Generate one in Bluesky settings; your account password will not work.

## Posting over the API

Use `bluesky` as the channel's `identifier`. The `settings` object this platform
expects is listed in [channel settings](/public-api/channel-settings).
