# Slack

> Connecting Slack, and the rules it enforces.

## Connecting

**Add Channel → Slack**, approve access on the platform, and you are returned

## Worth knowing

Internal distribution rather than public publishing — useful for notifying a team when something goes out.

## Posting over the API

Use `slack` as the channel's `identifier`. The `settings` object this platform
expects is listed in [channel settings](/public-api/channel-settings).
