# TikTok

> Connecting TikTok, and the rules it enforces.

| | |
| - | - |
| API identifier | `tiktok` |
| Account required | Any account. Publishing needs the app approved for the Content Posting API. |
| Media | **Required** — video or images. |
| Multi-part posts | Follow-up comments. |
| Analytics | Account and post metrics. |

## Connecting

**Add Channel → TikTok**, approve access on the platform, and you are returned
here. See [connect a channel](/general/channels/connect) for the general flow.

## Worth knowing

`content_posting_method` decides everything: `DIRECT_POST` publishes; `UPLOAD` sends a draft to the creator's inbox and silently discards every other setting. Until the API audit passes, posts may be restricted to creator-only visibility.

## Posting over the API

Use `tiktok` as the channel's `identifier`. The `settings` object this platform
expects is listed in [channel settings](/public-api/channel-settings).
