# Channel connection problems

> Why a connection fails, and what actually fixes it.

  <Accordion title="The platform sends me back with an error">
    Usually a redirect-URL mismatch between what the platform has registered and
    what was used. On a hosted account that is our configuration — contact
    support with the platform name and the time.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Connected, but immediately needs reconnecting">
    Almost always the account type. Instagram needs Business or Creator;
    Facebook needs a Page you administer, not a personal profile. The platform
    grants the token, then refuses the publishing scope.

  <Accordion title="Worked for weeks, then stopped">
    Expected. Several platforms expire tokens on a cycle, and changing your
    password on the platform revokes them immediately. Reconnect from the
    channel menu — history and settings are preserved.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="I approved it but nothing happened">
    The approval window was closed before it returned, so the exchange never
    completed. Start again and let it redirect on its own.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="TikTok connects but will not publish">
    Publishing needs the app approved for TikTok's Content Posting API. Until
    that approval lands, posts can be created but may be restricted to
    creator-only visibility. This is a TikTok review requirement, not a setting.
