The editor is a rich-text field, but what survives to each platform is decided by that platform — most accept plain text plus line breaks and little else.

Formatting

Bold, italic and lists render on platforms that support them and are stripped on those that do not. Nushir sanitises rather than rejects: unsupported markup is removed at publish, so what you see in the editor is the richest version, not a guarantee. Line breaks are preserved everywhere. They are the one piece of formatting you can rely on across every channel.

Character counts

Every selected channel shows its own remaining count, because limits differ per platform — and per instance, on Mastodon. When several channels share the global draft, the lowest limit is the one that blocks scheduling.

Mentions and hashtags

Typed as text. A platform that resolves @handle or #tag does so on its own side — Nushir does not verify a mention exists before publishing.

Emoji

The emoji picker inserts standard Unicode, which every platform renders in its own style.
Writing per-platform variants of the same message? Detach only the channels that need it and keep the rest on the shared draft — see global vs per-channel.
